INDIE NATION — MY STORY

Indie Nation is my brainchild—born from rebellion, creativity, and the need to build something real.

My journey started in London in 2012 with Phoenix & The Llama (my first clothing brand)—a collision of punk rock attitude and monochrome art. Black as a base. Explosions of white contrast. Art you could wear. Lots of skulls!

But I wanted something raw. Unapologetic. Entirely my own.

So I created Indie Nation. Not to follow trends—but to set them. A brand where individuality, culture, and edge collide.

Every piece we create is high-quality, locally made, and built with intention. We work with local seamstresses and source local fabrics—supporting real people, real skills, and real livelihoods right here in Cape Town. Because local matters. Because local is lekker.

We produce in small batches to reduce waste and respect the planet. No overproduction. No excess. Just thoughtful design, made to last.

Because for me, it’s never just been about clothing—it’s about creating opportunity.

I’m proud to build something that values craftsmanship, community, and conscious creation. No fast fashion. No shortcuts. No compromise.

Indie Nation is for those who move differently, think differently, and dress differently.

This is more than clothing. This is my movement.
